Springtime in the Maitai Valley

When Indy and I set out for our morning walk we never know what we will find, what special moment catches the eye and says clearly, “Paint this today!” Today it was the Camp Ground Reach above the swimming hole. The river has been a bit of a muddy torrent over the past week. Now that the rain has stopped the river has settled back down. When we came around the corner from the old meadow we were still in the shadow but the sun had caught the hills beyond. For the first time this year I noticed how the spring growth blazed and lit up the creek. Magic.
