I was fortunate that the resort where I was staying had a series of pools shaded by shrubs and palms. I found a secluded spot away from the other guests and was able to set up my easel without disturbing anyone. In the early days in a new country, it can take quite a long time to get the colours right. This is even more challenging when there are a lot of people around. I was very pleased to find this view across the pool where I was able to work in peace.
