Rangitikei River

The Rangitikei River. This is the last painting of this my eightieth year. I turn eighty one in two days time. It has certainly been a busy year. My planning for the year seemed to change by the week at times. Originally I saw twelve paintings, four from the sounds, four from the McKenzie Country, and four from the lower North Island. I will probably mention some of the things that happened over the next few posts. Just as an example I will explain this my last for the year. Originally I intended to go alone on a road trip, up the Rangitikei, down the Wanganui and up to Taranaki and see what caught my eye. Hil and Indy decided to come along, and the itinerary inevitably changed. Many good things. Saw some dear old friends, travelled much further than I expected. We only had a short time driving up the Rangitikei and the weather was not helpful. Fortunately the skies cleared f9r a few hours at Hunterville and this painting was the result. Next post: The Wanganui. My home town, my river…
